God's purpose

Written by Pastor John Garcia on .

God's purpose has always been to dwell with men. From the beginning of time to its culmination, from Eden to the New Jerusalem, this has been his singular desire. "Do you not discern and understand that you--the whole church at Corinth-- are God's temple...?" 1 Cor. 3:16 (AMP) In the Garden, it was God's pleasure to commune with the human community (Gen. 3:8). Adam, in his rebellion, ran from God forsaking this intimate communion, cutting himself off from the presence of God and plunging future generations into its present darkness.

With this tragic failure, God intervened, calling Abraham and his seed, to whom he said,
''...have them make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them" (Ex. 25:8). Likewise, Israel rebelled time-and-again, forsaking the devotion of her youth, until finally her house (or temple) was left desolate (Jer. 2:2; Mt. 23:38 ). But God, in whom there is no variance, pursues with passion his purpose to dwell with men. Throughout redemptive history he has lived a nomadic life, moving from the Garden and then from one dwelling to another looking for a permanent place to live. As the Lord explained to David, "...I have not dwelt in a house since the day that I brought up Israel to this day, but I have gone from tent to tent and from one dwelling place to another" (1 Chr. 17:5). Also Jesus said, "...foxes have holes and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head."

Marks of true maturity: Demonstrating Dominion

Written by Pastor John Garcia on .

The Promise is that as we move from infants into a deeper level of spiritual maturity, we will advance from slave to son, and thus, become heirs. It is awesome to receive the revelation that not only are we heirs because of Christ Jesus, we actually become joint-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:14-17). Notice this promise found in Romans 8:17 - And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also be glorified together.

To be a joint-heir denotes that you are entitled to the exact equal inheritance as the other family member. The inheritance is divided equally if someone is a joint-heir. This is a tremendous incentive to move into the place of maturity so that we will not be deprived of, nor forfeit, one bit of what Father God longs for us to fully walk in. The same anointing that empowered the early disciples is now obtainable and available for each of us. Christ stated, "As My Father has sent Me, even now I am sending you" (John 20:21).

Dirt Becomes Deliverance

Written by Pastor John Garcia on .

You may have heard the story of the farmer who had an old donkey that fell into a deep well. The farmer thought since the donkey was old, he might as well bury it down there. He called his neighbors together with shovels and they started throwing dirt down on the donkey. After awhile the farmer noticed the ears of the donkey and suddenly the donkey jumped out and ran across the field. The farmer and neighbors looked down into the well and discovered that, every time they threw dirt down on the donkey, he would just shake it off and step on it. The dirt being thrown upon him became his deliverance as he would shake it off and step on it. What was supposed to destroy him became a stepping stone to his deliverance!
The Psalmist must have just gone through a difficult time in his life that seemingly turned around when he penned, Psalm 84:6 - As they pass through the Valley of Baca (The place of excrement), they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools. There are many this hour who seemingly are in a pit or prison and the enemy is throwing all kinds of discouragement, slander and lies at you. There are others who have just come through the dung hill of life and have become triumphant when they should have been dead to their dream. You need to shake it off and step on it! As you continue to just shake it off and step on those lies and dirt that the enemy is trying to destroy you with, that dirt will become your stepping stone to your deliverance! Acts 28:5 - But Paul shook the snake off into the fire and suffered no ill effects.

Finish Line

Written by Pastor John Garcia on .

Allow me to begin by stating that we have been pre-destined and not pre-purposed. The Father doesn't simply have a function for us to perform; he has an identity locked up inside of us he desires to reveal. However, there are responsibilities that go along with purpose because there are 'end results' or a destiny that God intended to come from our lives. There is a 'fruit' from our existence that will cause future generations to be inspired and driven. What we do with our lives will impact those who come after us. In other words, progressions are dependent upon inception and completion.

A 'finish line' in our life can also be defined as a 'launching pad'. When something is completed, that completion also marks the beginning for something or some one else. The completed work then becomes the foundation for something new to be built upon. Our outcomes set the stage for new things to be revealed. This is how life progresses.

In this generation God is raising up men and women to be a voice, not simply an echo. There is a distinct difference between a voice and an echo. A voice can be traced to a point of origin an echo can not be traced. The origin of an echo is unknown. When I refer to being an echo, I am implying that we are not going to say what everybody else is saying. In other words we aren't just on this earth to be bouncing things off of one another. There is a sound God is trying to unleash on the earth. For planet earth, it will sound like a woman giving birth. This sound is not new to planet earth. It was heard as a crying in the wilderness, it shook the dry bones of a dead army, it collided with the walls of fortified cities, it shook the foundation of a prison and it will trumpet from the heavens onto the earth, once again.

The wilderness was no Tahiti, yet John the Baptist released the sound that shifts the climate over a city. He was not popular with religion or tradition because he was not speaking simply to seek allegiances. When John spoke the things that nobody else would say, he unveiled new breed of people. It makes no difference where we may find ourselves, we must observe that we are not always saying what everybody else is saying. This will only produce the same results. As heaven's ambassadors to this generation we have a mandate to deliver the decrees which have been entrusted to us.
