We are CO-Laborers, CO-Heirs and CO-mmisioned

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20 (New International Version)

We have been called to Co-labor with the intention and agenda of the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus’ model prayer invites us to invoke heaven’s assistance in bringing his bread and forgiveness to a broken world. Jesus said, “let your kingdom come, let your will be done.” The Kingdom always precedes his will. The three-letter word, “let” is not a suggestion or a plea. It is a command! Just like, “let there be light” or “let the high praises of God be on my lips.”

Then he also to says, “give us this day our daily bread and forgive us as we forgive.” WHOA! Herein lies the will of God, which is to provide bread and to release forgiveness. It’s wonderful to have a great crusade, but Jesus always had his large meetings accompanied by the multiplication of bread and fish for the hungry. Then we have this commissioning by Jesus to GO and make disciples. Disciples aren’t born, they are made.

They are made by teaching them to obey everything he has commanded. This is accomplished by observing our lives and modeling them. Modeling our marriages, raising children, our finances, dream management and fulfillment in our spiritual walk among other things. Verse 18 of the Great Commission shows us a keyword to get this mandate accomplished, authority. The reason we have authority and move in authority is because we are Co-Heirs. In other words, ambassadors of the kingdom of Heaven, with rights over sickness, disease, death, poverty, violence and injustice. Not only do we possess these rights, we’re not afraid to use them.

1 John 3:8b says, “The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.” Through signs and wonders, through acts of kindness and through generosity we make Christ’s prayers and Co-Mmission a reality. You make it a reality on the foreign land beneath your feet. Be bold! Be strong! Heal the sick, cast out devils, feed the hungry, clothe the naked, raise the dead. It’s your commission. It’s your destiny!
